Parent council

Parent Councils were established in 2007 to involve parents and community as fully as possible in the ‘life’ of schools.

The Parent Council consists of up to twelve members, including co-opted members, who have regular meetings with the Head Teacher, who acts as the principal professional adviser to the Parent Council. The co-opted members are chosen from the wider community to strengthen the experience base of the Parent Council.

The Parent Council is focused particularly on issues relating to Monymusk School and aims to assist, by working in close co-operation with the Head Teacher and other teaching staff, in providing the best educational opportunities for the children in the school.

The fund-raising group of Monymusk Parent Council encourages as many parents as possible to join and help raise vital money for the school through social events. Recent events have included a Bingo Night and a Duck Race and each year, we provide a barbecue and raffles for the Pupils’ Summer Fair and the Monymusk School Football Tournament.

Joining the fund-raising group is an excellent way to keep in touch with the School and meet other parents. Meetings are very informal and we can assure you of a warm welcome.
